IPAA Victoria’s Leadership Foundations course offers a leadership development experience, specifically designed to lay the foundations needed for effective leadership within the Victorian Public Service.
This course will guide participants through a comprehensive and interactive learning journey, ensuring they are well-equipped to excel as leaders within the Victorian Public Service.
Course overview
Participants will engage in practical exercises with tools that can be immediately applied to your leadership role; strengthen your leadership ripple and understand the role your leadership plays within the organisation.
The course is designed to:
- In-person workshops delivering core learning over 5 months
- Between session work, reflection and development
- Insight from the powerful 360 feedback tool – LSI I and II
- 3 online Practicums to integrate skills, build connections with colleagues and tailor the learning experience
- Grow as a leader, honing the skills necessary for effective leadership.
Course outcomes
At the end of this course, you will have:
- Mastered the art of effective influencing.
- Learnt how to cultivate resilience and build psychosocial safety.
- Gained insight into successfully navigating change.
- Grown your confidence in conducting difficult conversations, and
- Learnt how to foster trust in hybrid work settings.

- People Managers who are supervising at least one person
- New and emerging leaders in the VPS
