IPAA Victoria’s Introduction to Ethical Decision Making will help with the decisions we make daily have a real impact on our lives and the lives of others – whether colleagues, clients, customers or suppliers. Ethical dimensions involve questions about what is important; what is valued; what right and good mean; and what our decisions affect individuals and society.
Course overview
Our Ethics and Decision Making workshops allows individuals and teams to gain insight into what drives choices and learn to slow down thinking when facing complex decisions.
The course is designed to:
- In these facilitated workshops, your team will be given the tools to examine their organisational ethics framework – purpose, values, principles – as the common touchstone for all decisions they make at work.
- By learning how to frame ethical considerations in decision making we work with your team to guide adoption of a practical model for approaching common organisational dilemmas.
- Workshops are delivered in-person or online in a small group format to optimise the learning experience, giving more space for personalised learning, questions and discovery.
Course outcomes
On completion of this learning experience, participants will be able to:
- Describe and define ethics. Compare how it differs with morality, the law and other rules or codes.
- Identify biases and heuristics in themselves and others and their impact on decision making.
- Recognise the importance of ethics in your personal and professional life.
- Identify how an ethical decision making process enables better decisions.
- Illustrate the importance of an ethical framework – purpose, values and principles.
